Brøndby IF has just completed a pre-emptive rights issue on NASDAQ Copenhagen resulting in gross proceeds of DKK 100 million. Dansk Merchant Capital acted as financial advisor to Brøndby IF in connection with the rights issue.
The strengthening of Brøndby IF’s capital base gives Brøndby IF the opportunity to redeem all of its interest bearing debt as well as the opportunity to improve facilities to the benefit of fans and sponsors. Dansk Merchant Capital A/S advised Brøndby IF regarding the structure of the issue as well as its completion.
Brøndby IF has won the Danish football league more than 10 times and was the second football club in the world to become publicly traded. Today, Brøndby IF is one of the largest football clubs in Denmark and has one of the largest fanbases with supporters all around the country.
Brøndby IF is the club in the Danish football league with the most viewers and Brøndby IF has a greater amount of publicity on the Internet and in newspapers compared to its competitors as well as compared to some of Denmark’s biggest companies. This makes Brøndby IF an attractive partner for sponsors and Brøndby IF has since a restructuring in 2013 seen a significant increase in revenues and sees a further potential for Brøndby IF’s position to be reflected in the commercial results.
Brøndby has since the restructuring increased its revenue substantially and thereby achieved a significant improvement in cash flow from operations.
